Abilities[]
Bone Powers[]
Because of his Dokeshi abilities Shotaro gains the abilities of animals by biting one of their bones, which he carries in his backpack.[1] It is later revealed that Shotaro can draw power from any bone, and even call upon the memories and personality of the deceased. If Shotaro draws too much of the spirit of the deceased, Shotaro can exhaust himself, requiring he sleep for almost an entire day.[2]
- Bone of the Bird: Shotaro gains the power of unassisted flight.[1]
- Bone of the Snake: Shotaro can bend his body to slide through narrow passages, even large crowds.[1]
- Bone of the Hedgehog: Shotaro's hair forms into quills which can puncture heavy but flexible surfaces.[1]
- Bone of the Monkey: Shotaro gains dexterity and balance, allowing him to swing easily and leap far distances.[1]
- Bone of the Dog: Shotaro's sense of smell improves and can run quickly on all fours.[1]
- Bone of the Ogre: Depending on how much spirit Shotaro draws upon, his height and face change to that of that particular ogre.[2]
- Bone of the Pig: Shotaro gains a pig's nose and can charge at opponents with great strength.
- Bone of the Cat: Shotaro's facial features become more feline: his irises and pupils narrow, his ears become more pointed, his nose comes to resemble a cat's, and his mouth becomes more cleft. Under the influence of the Bone of the Cat, Shotaro is also prone to hiss and meow. Most significantly, Shotaro's fingers become clawed, his fingernails extended and pointed. As when under the power of Bone of the Dog, Shotaro can dash quickly on all fours.
- Cat Strike: With his extended fingernails, Shotaro can disable opponents, slashing with his fingernails like a cat's claws, cutting through even metal guns such as those wielded by Fear Factory soldiers.[3]
- Bone of the Horse: Shotaro gain incredible kicking power. [4]
Strength and Endurance[]
Whether due to the Bone Powers, other Dokeshi abilities, or other traits, Shotaro seems to have considerable strength, enough to carry the weight of a someone his own size, such as Mana, with just his teeth.[5]
Kyokotsu[]
During his fight with NoFix ,Shotaro eneters the Kyokotsu Dimension within himself. There he meets Kyokotsu, who Explains that Shotaro that he is Shotaro's bones and that he must draw power from his own bones to save his friends. By doing this, Shotaro gains a new outfit and greater power.
- Dish of the Kappa: Shotaro comes to resemble a kappa. His fingers become more curled with longer fingernails to resemble animalistic paws, with web between his fingers. The top of his head becomes hard and bald like the dome atop a kappa's head. While using the dish, he gains their ability to communicate with and remove the souls of people and objects, along with an incredibly strong skull.
Enhanced Bone Powers[]
After being strengthened by Kyokotsu, Shotaro gains the ability use multiple bones at once.

- Bone of the Bird: Shotaro gains the power to fly by spreading his arms. He can carry people by wrapping his legs around them.
- Bone of the Snake + Bone of the Snake + Bone of the Snake:
Enhanced Strength[]
While empowered by Kyokotsu, Shotaro's physical strength Increased considerably, being able to stop a NoFix empowered Fear Robot's punch with one hand and destroy the fist.
